Each of us has things that aren’t so easy to do, too. Your friend who is a great ball player may not be good at math. Your pal who can tell jokes might have trouble with spelling. Although there are a lot of things you’re good at, you sometimes
have trouble getting your words out.
Although this problem may feel so big that you can’t figure out
a way to fix it, it can be fixed! One thing that will help is if you try to think creatively. You want to talk to others,
but when you’re with some of them, the words just get stuck. How can we get the words out? Try some of these ideas. Email me and let me know how they worked for you, or if you have an idea to add to the list.
· Carry a note card with a message you can hand to people.
· Write on your hand
what you’d like to say.
· Email friends after school.
· Have
a classmate over after school to hang out.
See what other ideas you can come up with to try. This
means you’ll need to be creative, but sometimes being creative is a lot of fun!
